Brand promotions - Programmed perception.

Introduction
What better way to get a person to try something new or continue using the same product than to use an advertAdvertising is the most common way, at the moment, used to influence people to or not to take action towards a certain brand.

The relevance of alcohol
Although viewed negatively by the majority of all nations, that still does not affect the sale and consumption of alcohol worldwide. Alcohol, on its own, forms one of the biggest markets in the world to an extent that major consequences would be faced or to be dealt with if it was to be cancelled from the consumer list.

Kinds of adverts
Advertisements come in many different forms, shapes and sizes; each with its own target public at interest. There are pamphlets, posters and billboards; to radio adverts and all adverts done online.

Advertising Statistics
Studies have revealed that the advertising of alcohol does, in fact, boost sales and consumption of alcohol. The media portrays alcohol as something that brings people together, makes then happy and takes all their problems away; reason being that all alcohol adverts make all their characters on the advert seem 'cool' and as to say there is nothing that is better than alcohol. Which goes to show that advertising can position any product, whether perceived good or bad, to look innocent and preferable to masses of people, thus getting people to change their behavior in the long-run.

Conclusion
All in all, advertising is all about delivering the intended message to target publics and getting a preferred response from them.

Types of media and their functions.

Introduction
Day after another, the media is becoming more important. There are an increasing number of people who turn away from print media; and are focusing their attention on broadcast and digital media. Media is a vital tool that can be used to promote brands by making people aware of their existance, educating people about them and changing people's perception and behaviour towards them, ultimately building and sustaining relationships.

Different forms of media
Forms of media can be classified as print, broadcast and digital media. Print media includes: newspapers and magazines; broadcast media includes: television and radio; while digital media are Facebook and Twitter. The benefit of using media is that it is fast and reaches masses of people in different locations.

Brands that use media successfully
Some of the brands that have stayed strong due to the correct use of media are Coke and Heineken. These brands have made use of one of the most important form of media today, which is social media. It is a strong form of medium because it offers organisations the opportunity to speak directly to stakeholders; and offers immediate feedback.

Who can use the media?
Anyone who wants to send a message to masses of people and has the required budget and equipment to do so can use media, from organisations to a person who just wants to be heard.
